Episode 6 is an Introduction to Public Policy

Hello, and welcome to the blog of the What’s Next in Social Sciences podcast!

We’re back after a break, and we’re so excited to bring to you another episode. During our break, something wonderful happened. We got covered in a feature article in the prestigious Indian newspaper The Hindu. We got featured alongside a few other successful podcasts that were started during the COVID19 lockdown. We’re so glad we got the chance to get that kind of coverage and we hope that it helped take this podcast to more people who can benefit from it.

Episode 6 is one of our ‘Intro to’ segments and it’s on the field of Public Policy. It’s an extremely popular course because of its broad nature and job-oriented approach as opposed to more singular social science courses. I didn’t know much about the course — always thought it was the MBA of the development sector. But listening to our guest Ankush Wagle, I got a lot more clarity on what exactly the course is, and what sort of career it offers. Ankush is a Masters in Public Policy candidate at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore (NUS) and talks extensively about his programme which is of international repute.

Do listen and share! And reach out to Archana and me (Nirupama) on our LinkedIn in case of any queries or if you just wanna connect.

Also, it would be great if you could take a minute to share your expectations and what you’d like us to cover in future episodes on this link.

In today’s additional resources, we have a list of renowned public policy courses in the region (in no particular order):

Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Singapore
